The point loads from a stopping or standing aircraft as well as the passenger bridge are concentrated on small areas. Due to the little wander and heavy loads, fatigue is the critical factor here.

But also the spillage of Kerosin or oil and the thermal loads are tearing on the pavement material and influencing the life time span considerably.
