Prefab elements
Prefabricated products is a new business area for Contec in Denmark. Based on our know-how, experience with High Performance Concrete (HPC) and our patents, Contec now develops and manufactures furniture, small prefab bridge elements, stair cases, loud speakers systems, tiles and even a new low energy prefab building system.
Our prefab products are developed in close corporation with our customers with the goal of setting new standards and trends for the use of concrete. As High Performance Concrete distinguishes itself with extreme dense and strength properties it opens up for new designs and solutions.
The products are often molded which in a combination with the ultra fine HPC powder offers an appearance and surface like granite. The mortar can be coloured and the surface can be treated to minimize the need for future maintenance. There are many options why architects and designers already have become important customers to Contec.
In 2009 staircases and floors for the new concert hall for National Danish Radio was designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel and supplied by Contec. In 2010 the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation awarded Contec and its partners with founds to finish a new house building system that combines advanced insulation technology with High Performance Concrete in new exiting designs.
